FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Randy Connour, 920.593.3426

Green Bay, Wis.- (Feb. 1, 2010) – Effective today, all companies participating in the Healthy Lifestyles Cooperative are Greater Green Bay YMCA corporate members – and receive the benefits YMCA corporate memberships provide.

Co-op members now enjoy benefits that include waived individual joiner fee, free trial week for employees and their families and free promotional material and newsletter. In addition, members of the Co-op’s recently introduced Healthy Lifestyles Fitness product are also eligible for YMCA corporate membership. Healthy Lifestyles Fitness delivers all the fitness and wellness components of the cooperative without the health insurance element.

“The focus of both the Greater Green Bay YMCA and the Healthy Lifestyles Cooperative is to serve their members by helping them lead healthier lives,” said Randy Connour, executive director of the Co-op, which insures almost 1,500 members. “That common focus makes our new partnership a natural fit that will benefit both organizations.”

Statistics show that fitness produces gains in daily energy and productivity, complex thinking and decision-making, and accuracy, not to mention long-term reduction in medical claims. The Cooperative was established in 2007 to stabilize health insurance rates through cooperative purchasing, personal responsibility and healthier lifestyles. Healthy Lifestyles Fitness is aimed at moving more Americans toward active, healthful lifestyles.

The Cooperative is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide Northeast Wisconsin employers with a health insurance plan that achieves stable premium rates through cooperative purchasing, personal accountability and healthier lifestyles.
