The Mission of the Healthy Lifestyles Cooperative is to stabilize health insurance rates through cooperative purchasing, personal responsibility, and healthier lifestyles.

One way that we work toward meeting our mission is through focusing on factors that we can control such as our health care utilization and our individual health risks. We know that 50 - 75% of chronic conditions can be attributed to our lack of wellness habits -this is why it is important for you to participate in your fitness incentive program - Sonic Boom.

Sonic Boom is a tool that can help you to take control of your health – making improvements in your health status by taking steps to lower risk factors (high cholesterol, sedentary lifestyle) OR if you are healthy - working to maintain your current level of health/wellness.

It's tied to rate caps on your future health insurance premiums and health insurance Premiums continue to sky rocket. There are many reasons for this. The most prominent continues to be LIFESTYLE BEHAVIORS. As much as 70% of the cost of healthcare is due to things WE control; our health, fitness, and nutrition.
